Well, what’s there to tell about me?

I am in my mid 30s (loving it- seriously!...although I wish I could have my mid 20's body, combined with my wisdom from now...but who wouldn't?!), I am in a relationship with my Kiwi- partner for the past 7ish years and we recently have started to do some serious adulting. How? Well, we decided to have a child: not only in theory, but the real deal- the whole shenanigans where we are trying to raise a little human being who doesn’t turn into an absolute dick.

The definition of a dick is of course dependent on your own values. According to ours we want our little man to be kind & compassionate, to feel empathy... We want him to give a damn: And not only about HIS family and HIS friends and HIS immediate surroundings, but about others. About nature. I want him to realize how we are all responsible for our actions. How every little bit counts. How he cannot wait for others to lead and how he shouldn’t just follow, but to use his own brain and how to speak up when something doesn’t look or feel right.  And as children learn by example we try to be that: not to be dicks and to give a damn.

I know I will not safe the world…but when my son will ask one day what happened and what we, as his parents, have done to make things better, at least I can say that we gave a damn and that we did our bit!
